PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer having high polymerization conversion of a monomer and a high molecular weight. SOLUTION: The method for producing a polymer comprises polymerizing a monomer component containing a monomer (1) represented by general formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>denotes a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or a trifluoromethyl group; R<SP>2</SP>denotes a single bond or a divalent hydrocarbon group; R<SP>3</SP>denotes a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group; and Rf<SP>1</SP>denotes an alkylene group in which at least one hydrogen atom is replaced with a fluorine atom) in a solvent component containing a solvent (S) represented by general formula (S) (wherein R<SP>4</SP>denotes a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group; R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>each independently denote a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or an acetyl group; and i denotes an integer of 0 or more).
