Disclosed is a phthalocyanine derivative represented by formula (1), which has high solubility in ether solvents and improved heat resistance. (In formula (1), M represents a metal, or the like; and Z1 to Z4 independently represent a group represented by any one of formulae (2) to (5). In formulae (2) to (5), p to s independently represent an integer of 0 to 6; and R1 to R4 independently represent a substituent (a) represented by formula (6), (6'), (6'') or the like, or a halogen atom. In formulae (6), (6') and (6''), R5 represents an alkoxy group or a halogen atom; R6 represents an alkylene group; R7 represents an alkyl group; t represents an integer of 0 to 4; u represents an integer of 0 to 4; and t' represents an integer of 0 to 6. In the above-mentioned formulae, among all of the groups to be introduced as groups R1 to R4, not less than 0.05 and less than 3 groups are hydrogen atoms and 3 to 6 groups are the substituents (a), and the remaining groups are halogen atoms.)
