In a conveyer for granular material, particularly for unloading ships, of the kind in which the suction pipe line 6 is connected at its discharge end to a separator 1 and is arranged to be luffed and slued, the lid 3 of the separator is rotated by a motor 5 and carries a winch 11 for luffing the pipe line and a pivotal pipe coupling 7 for bedding it. This coupling is connected to the protruding upper end of an inlet tube 14. The lower end of the tube is connected to an opening in a partition 15 in the separator. The dead space 13 above the partition 15 contains the motor 5. The space below the partition contains a collecting tube 16 having a funnel-shaped inlet. A roof-shaped guide member 21, which has a central opening and is adjustably mounted in an axial direction, is disposed above the funnel-shaped inlet and a roof-shaped member 17 is disposed below the tube 16.
