PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet glass manufacturing method by which even at a relatively high viscosity of molten glass, a glass ribbon with a stable ear part shape can be formed. SOLUTION: When molten glass 5 overflowing a supply groove 22 formed in a top surface 21 of a main unit 2 of a glass forming apparatus is allowed to flow down along a pair of wall surfaces 23 of the main unit 2 while regulating the width by a pair of guides 3, the molten glass 5 in parts contacting with the guides 3 is converged toward a ridge line 24 formed by intersection of the lower ends of the pair of wall surfaces 23 while reducing the amount of contact with the guides 3.
