PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle dispersion liquid for display which achieves clear multicolor display. SOLUTION: The particle dispersion liquid for display contains: first colored particles which are electrified with positive polarity, move in accordance with an electric field, and are colored with a first color which is different from white color; second colored particles which are electrified with negative polarity, move in accordance with the electric field, and are colored with a second color which is different from the white color and the first color; first white particles which are electrified with positive polarity, move in accordance with the electric field, are smaller in volume average particle size than the first colored particles and the second colored particles, smaller in movement speed than the first colored particles and the second colored particles, and white in color; second white particles which are electrified with negative polarity, move in accordance with the electric field, are smaller in volume average particle size than the first colored particles and the second colored particles, move at speed slower than the first colored particles and the second colored particles, and are white; and a dispersion medium which disperses the first colored particles, second colored particles, first white particles and second white particles.
