The invention relates to a method for printing a finishing on the side surface of a culinary article (3) which is rotatably mounted. The method includes an inking step in which the ink (10) is applied to a matrix (1), a transfer step in which the ink (10) is transferred from the matrix (1) to a rotationally symmetric surface (12) of a pad (2) which is rotatably mounted, and a printing step in which the ink (10) deposited by the pad (2) on the rotationally symmetric surface (16) of the culinary article (3) by contacting the rotationally symmetric surface (12) of the pad (2) with the side surface (16) of the culinary article (3). According to the invention, the matrix (1) is rotatably mounted, the ink (10) being transferred from the matrix (1) to the pad (2) by contacting the respective rotationally symmetric surface (4, 12) thereof, the contacting of the pad (2) with the block (1) being carried out in a priming area (8) of the block (1) which lacks relief and/or the contacting of the culinary article (3) with the pad (2) is carried out in a non-inked area (18) of the pad (2). |
