<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a surge voltage by reducing combined inductance within a power module. <P>SOLUTION: A power conversion apparatus includes an upper arm side heat spreader (30) mounted with a plurality of upper arm side switching elements (15), and a lower arm side heat spreader (40) mounted with a plurality of lower arm side switching elements (25). In this case, the upper arm side and lower arm side switching elements (15, 25) comprise each an element in a lateral-type structure wherein a source (S), a gate (G) and a drain (D) are arranged in parallel with each other on one side face thereof. Furthermore, the upper arm side and lower arm side heat spreaders (30, 40) are arranged in parallel with each other and are configured to allow the currents flowing through the upper arm side and the lower arm side heat spreaders (30, 40) to be reversed in their conducting directions mutually. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
