PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ester compound, by which the ester compound having a specific structural formula is obtained in easy operations in high selectivity. SOLUTION: The method for producing the ester compound comprises reacting a reaction raw liquid containing an alcohol (1) having a specific structure, an alcohol raw material, if necessary, containing a pH-adjusting agent, and having a pH value of 4 to 9 obtained by a specific measurement method, and an ester compound (3) having a specific structure, in the presence of an enzyme, to obtain the ester compound (2) having a specific structural formula.
