PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use digital information from an IBOC digital decoder by further fractionalization depending whether it is in a digital data obtainable state or whether it is in a digital audio outputtable state, thereby controlling an IF band filter width still more suitable for an output voice of an IBOC radio receiver. SOLUTION: The IBOC radio receiver is equipped with: a switch 3 for switching IF band filters which let broadcasting waves pass therethrough; an AM/FM demodulating part 7 for demodulating a signal included in the broadcasting waves which have passed through either one IF band filter of a broadband filter 4 and a narrowband filter 5; and a control part 12 for determining a field intensity level of the broadcasting waves from the signal demodulated by the AM/FM demodulating part 7. The control part 12 controls the switch 3 so that the narrowband filter 5 and the broadband filter 4 are swtched in response to the field intensity level of the broadcasting waves and a temporal variation of the field intensity level of the broadcasting waves.
