PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter element and its mounting structure capable of preventing a frame of a reinforcing plate from, together with a seal part, shifting inward from the pinched position where a cap and case constituting an air cleaner are closed relative to each other. SOLUTION: The frame 4a of the reinforcing plate 4 is partially extended to form a first projection 10 in such an arrangement that it is exposed to outside the seal part 3, and as a hitch reception part, a hole 12 is bored in the exposed portion of the first projection 10. It is arranged so that the hole 12 is hitched at the projection 11 protruding on the flange 1a of the cap 1 when the cap 1 and the case 2 are closed relative to each other.
