The household appliance (10) has a steam generator (20) and a liquid tank (26) for receiving a liquid quantity. The household appliance has a reheater (50) in order to supply the steam generated by the steam generator with heat. The reheater is arranged partially in or on the liquid tank such that the reheater is thermally connected to the liquid quantity when same is received in the liquid tank. An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of steam in the household appliance.
