The roll stand has two rollers with axes around which rollers rotate and a guide roller (10) for guiding the rolling stock. The guide roller has a guide section for partial contact with the rolling stock. The guide section is formed to portions by a guide recess (13) on the guide roller. The cross-section of the guide recess has a recess section (14) with a surface form and another recess section (15) with another surface form in a plane which contains an axis (A).
