COMPOSITION FOR PLASMA AND SERUM SEPARATION, AND CONTAINER FOR BLOOD TESTING

The disclosed composition for plasma and serum separation can compensate for the initial insufficiency of thixotropy when the concentration of an inorganic powder is reduced, and cracks cannot easily occur in the membrane formed by the composition for separation after centrifugation. The composition for plasma and serum separation is formed from a liquid resin component having a membrane-forming property, a hydrophilic inorganic powder, a hydrophobic inorganic powder, and an organic compound as a thixotropic agent. The composition for plasma and serum separation is characterised by the organic compound comprising: 1) a homopolymer of a monomer selected from C3-5 alkylene oxide monomers; 2) a periodic copolymer, alternating copolymer, or random copolymer of at least two monomers selected from C2-5 alkylene oxide monomers; 3) a block copolymer of at least two monomers selected from C3-5 alkylene oxide monomers; and 4) at least one polymer selected from a group comprising graft copolymers comprising at least one polymer selected from 1)-3) above. The composition for plasma and serum separation is further characterised in that the content of a polyalkylene glycol having a number average molecular weight between 500 and 100000 inclusive and/or a derivative thereof is between 0.2 wt% and 5 wt% inclusive of the overall weight.
