MEMBRANE ELECTRODE STRUCTURE FOR FUEL CELL, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode structure for a fuel cell with excellent durability as compared with a conventional one by preventing deterioration of an electrode catalyst layer of an anode in restarting the fuel cell.

SOLUTION: The membrane electrode structure 1 for a fuel cell includes a polymer electrolyte membrane 2 interposed between electrode catalyst layers 32, 42 of an anode 3 and a cathode 4. A ratio of a pore volume of pores having a pore diameter 0.1 μm or less with respect to a pore volume of pores having a pore diameter 3μ m or less formed in the electrode catalyst layer 32 of the anode 3 is 70% or more.
