<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter that has photo-spacers having uniform height and less deformation unevenness without decreasing density even if at least one color of colored layers having a plurality of colors is different from the other color in film thickness, and to provide a liquid crystal display apparatus using the color filter. <P>SOLUTION: In the color filter 1 which is provided so as to be different from film thickness of the colored layer having the other color in order to make liquid crystal layer gaps different, light shielding layers 3, the photo-spacers 5, and the colored layers 4 having a plurality of colors are provided in this order on a transparent substrate 2.
