PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor, capable of preventing a coating liquid forming a coating film from sticking to the outer peripheral surface of a body to be coated by a simple means even when the coating film is formed at the coating lower end part of the body to be coated by immersion coating. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor includes: an immersion coating step; and a member insertion and extraction step of inserting an insertion member from an opening on the coating lower end side of the body to be coated to the internal space of the body to be coated in the state of not being in contact with the body to be coated, and extracting the insertion member from the internal space of the body to be coated in the state of not being in contact with the body to be coated as it is from the opening on the coating lower end side of the body to be coated.
