The present invention relates to a method for reducing the Peak-to-Average Power Ratio of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing modulated signal, said signal having a plurality of sub-carriers, said method comprising the following steps: (a) providing a digital signal to be transmitted, said signal being expressed by a plurality of bits; (b) splitting said digital signal into a plurality of bits; (c) assigning a geometric locus of the points of the complex plane to one or more blocks of bits obtaining a plurality of primary symbols (x[k]) each one univocally and sequentially associated to one respective of said sub-carriers; (d) carrying out an inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) obtaining the time domain signal (s[i]); (e) carrying out a cut of the amplitude of said time domain signal (s[i]) with respect of a set beforehand amplitude (?); (f) carrying out a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) obtaining a plurality of transformed symbols (x[k]); and (g) restoring the position of said transformed symbols (x[k]) in the geometric locus, assigned in said step (c), to which the respective primary symbols (x[k]) belong.
