<p>In a motor device used while a parallel hybrid vehicle is traveling, disclosed is a method for starting an engine that enables greater compactness of the device and that can generate large starting torque when starting the engine of the vehicle. Further disclosed is the device used in this method. The method is provided with: a motor reverse rotation driving step wherein reverse rotation current is applied, causing the motor output shaft to be driven to rotate in the reverse rotation direction of the engine output shaft, causing elastic deformation of the elastic member of a damper, and accumulating force that biases the motor output shaft in the positive rotation direction; a biased positive rotation step wherein the application of current is stopped, releasing the biasing force resulting from the motor reverse rotation driving step, and causing the rotation of the motor output shaft in the positive rotation direction; a motor positive rotation driving step wherein positive rotation current is applied, causing the motor output shaft to be driven to rotate in the positive rotation direction; and an engine starting ignition step wherein the engine output shaft is caused to rotate by means of the rotation from the motor positive rotation driving step, causing the engine to ignite.</p> |
