<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste composition for an electrode capable of restraining oxidation of copper at the time of calcination and forming an electrode with low resistivity, and a solar cell having an electrode formed by using the paste composition for an electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The paste composition for an electrode includes metal particles which make copper as a primary component, a phosphorous containing compound, glass particles, a solvent, and a resin.
