PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-frequency power amplifier that realizes proper high-frequency characteristics, without the use of isolators, and which realizes low power dissipation. SOLUTION: A high-frequency power amplifier includes a power amplifier 11 that amplifies high-frequency signals; a voltage supply section 14 that supplies the power amplifier 11 with a collector voltage; a current supply section that supplies the power amplifier 11 with a bias current; and a bias current detection section 13 that detects the bias current. The voltage supply section 14 includes a controller 18, that controls a source voltage to be a first voltage, when the bias current is equal to or less than a reference value of the bias current and controls it to be a second voltage less than the first voltage, when the bias current is larger than the reference value of the bias current.
