PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly measure the content of a volatile organic compound in a mixed gas, which is led out of an inspection container in which a moisture-containing measuring target is hermetically sealed, with high precision. SOLUTION: A measuring instrument 1 for measuring the volatile organic compound is equipped with an inspection container 2 in which the volatile organic compound and the moisture-containing measuring target 20 are hermetically sealed: after air in the inspection container 2 is substituted with inert gas, the volatile organic compound is diffused from the measuring target 20 to fill the inspection container 2 with mixed gas containing the inert gas and the volatile organic compound, and the mixed gas is subsequently led out of the inspection container 2 to measure the content of the volatile organic compound in the mixed gas. This measuring instrument is equipped with the inner container 6, in which the measuring target 20 is sealed, arranged in the inspection container 2 and the inner container 6 is formed of polyethylene, polypropylene or polyethylene terephthalate.
