<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing member including a polarizing film and a functional film tightly adhering to each other and having superior durability. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the polarizing member includes the steps of: forming a polarizing film by applying a dichroic dye-containing solution on a base material; performing fixing processing of the dichroic dye in the formed polarizing film; forming a primer layer by applying an aqueous resin composition containing a resin component and an aqueous solvent onto the polarizing film after the fixing processing and drying the composition; and forming a functional film on the formed primer layer.
