<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pointing device capable of suppressing increase of power consumption and reducing malfunctions, and electronic equipment with the same. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pointing device 1 has: a contact part with a contact surface 12 which an object 10 comes into contact with; an LED light source 13 which irradiates the contact surface 12 with light; an imaging element 14 which forms reflected light of the object 10 as an image; and an image pickup device 15 which picks up the image of the object 10.
