PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which can well continue transfer of image data by appropriately coping with the trouble of a communication path, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: Coping with that data transfer by a communication path of a controller No.1 and a head controller HC fails, video data not transferred yet (line data (k+1) to line data 399) are transferred by a communication path of a controller No.2 and the head controller HC. Only line data (k+1) to 39 not transmitted yet are moved as they are to another controller No.2 in response to the occurrence of a communication path disconnection, and transfer of video data is continued by the controller No.2.
