PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new optical adhesive tape or sheet which can exhibit excellent yellowing resistance, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The optical adhesive tape or sheet 100, which has a transparent adhesive layer 10, satisfies the following at least three conditions: (1) the adhesive layer 10 consists of an acrylic adhesive which contains a hindered phenol-based antioxidant and is polymerized using an azo polymerization initiator; (2) the ratio of the main peak intensity, which belongs to the hindered phenol-based antioxidant, to the main peak intensity, which belongs to the azo polymerization initiator, is 0.4 or less, wherein the hindered phenol-based antioxidant and the azo polymerization initiator remains in measurement of gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GC-MS) of pyrolysis gas; and (3) chromaticness index (b*) expressed in L*a*b* color system after wet heat preservation for 500 hours at 80°C and 90%RH is 1.0 or less.
