PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that all conventional speaker systems are constituted to reproduce sound waves by generating a change in a temperature of air around a heat source, however, any of the conventional speaker systems does not reproduce sufficient sound pressure. SOLUTION: A speaker system is disclosed which includes activated carbon 1 and a signal source 2 and causes a temperature change in the activated carbon 1 by the signal source 2, and thereby not only heat change is generated in the air around the activated carbon but also the adsorption amount of gas adsorbed by the activated carbon is changed and the activated carbon adsorbs and desorbs the gas, a highly efficient speaker is obtained as a result. Also, since it is a simple structure of making electricity flow to the activated carbon, the sound is reproduced by a simple constitution without the presence of a vibration system or magnets.
