PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope system for telemedicine which can be remotely operated. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope system for the telemedicine includes an electronic endoscope which has a first image processing part for generating an observation image on the basis of signals from an imaging element and a radio module for radio transmitting the signals from the imaging element, and a receiver which has a second image processing part for receiving radio transmitted image signals and generating the observation images. The receiver radio transmits a first signal for making agreements for controlling the operation of the electronic endoscope to the electronic endoscope by the operation of a first operation means, and the electronic endoscope radio transmits a second signal for permitting the control of the operation of the electronic endoscope by the receiver to the receiver by the operation of a second operation means. The receiver radio transmits a third signal for controlling the operation of the electronic endoscope to the electronic endoscope by the operation of a third operation means after receiving the second signal, and the electronic endoscope is operated on the basis of the third signal.
