Provided is a member supporting a sample for observing an X-ray microscopic image which is suitable for observing a biosample under an X-ray microscope. The sample-supporting member (10) is provided with a sample-supporting film (11) such as a silicon nitride film, a carbon film or a polyimide film, an X-ray-radiating film (13) which radiates characteristic X-rays in the soft X-ray region in response to the irradiation with charged particles, said X-ray-radiating film being formed on one main surface of said sample-supporting film, and a sample-adsorbing film (12) which is a metal film adsorbing a sample (1) to be observed and thus fixing the same, said sample-adsorbing film being formed on the other main surface of the sample-supporting film (11). Since proteins constituting a biosample are liable to be adsorbed by metal ions, the sample-adsorbing film (12) is formed on one of the main surfaces of the sample-supporting film (11) and allowed to adsorb the sample to be observed. By using the aforesaid sample-supporting member (10), the sample to be observed can be fixed merely by dropping a solution containing the biosample onto the sample-adsorbing film (12) or injecting the solution into a cell containing the sample-supporting member (10). |
