<p>The present disclosures make it easier to detect when search keywords are used in a characteristic manner in an image. An image search device (10) is provided with: an image database (11) that stores images to be searched; a character string region extraction unit (13) that extracts character string regions that are in an image and in which character strings are contained; a character string candidate recognition unit (14) that recognizes character strings contained within character string regions; a visual feature quantity calculation unit (16) that calculates visual feature quantities of said character strings on the basis of one of the size, color, shape/ornamentation, and the contrast between character color and background color of the characters that constitute the character string; a search keyword input unit (17) that inputs a keyword for search; a search unit (18) that searches whether or not the keyword matches a character string recognized from the images, and that, from the aforementioned visual feature values calculated from a character string region of which a matching character string has been recognized, calculates a score value for the image in which said character string is contained; and an output unit (19) that outputs search results according to the calculated score value.</p> |
