<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a sufficiently long time for a light emission period by shortening time required to set a voltage between the gate and source of a drive transistor prior to a data writing period to a desired value. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device 100 includes a pixel circuit P and a driving circuit 20. The pixcel circuit P includes the drive transistor TDR, a light emitting element E, a first capacity element C1 interposed between the gate and source of the drive transistor TDR, a selecting transistor TSL, a current generator for generating a set current Is. The driving circuit 20 is configured such that during a current set period PS prior to the writing period PWR in which data potential VD is written in the pixel circuit P, the current generator is controlled so as to generate a set current Is of prescribed magnitude, thereby setting a voltage between the gate and the source of the drive transistor TDR (voltage between both ends of the first capacity element C1) to a value required for the set current Is to flow in the drive transistor TDR. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
