摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To well measure the terahertz transmission spectrum of a very small amount of the molecules or the like in a substance highly absorbent for terahertz waves, without using an extremely thin liquid cell, a prism optical system, a silicon rod and the like. <P>SOLUTION: In a waveguide structure, inputted terahertz waves are two-branched into a first branch passage 56A and a second branch passage 56B to be propagated and subsequently synthesized to one route on the output end sides of both branch passages to be outputted. A housing part for housing a measuring target is formed to a region containing a region, through which the terahertz waves propagated through a waveguide propagate as evanescent waves, in the periphery of the waveguide. Since the waveguide has a two-branch structure, the housing part can be formed into a structure containing first and second housing parts 52A and 52B.
