PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system, restraining a picture from increasingly being out of focus due to AF (Auto Focus) and preventing a user from being mistaken about the in-focus state when a camera body and an interchangeable lens of an old design are used in combination with an intermediate accessory of a new design. SOLUTION: In this camera system including the interchangeable lens, the camera body and the intermediate accessory, the interchangeable lens has an optical inherent information storage part, a first signal generating means for generating a first signal indicating the possibility state of automatic focusing of the interchangeable lens and a lens communication control part, the intermediate accessory has an intermediate accessory communication control part and an ID (Identifier) discriminating means for discriminating identification codes of the interchangeable lens and the camera body, and the intermediate accessory communication control part transmits the first signal from the first signal generating means of the interchangeable lens indicating that automatic focusing is impossible to the camera communication control part of the camera body when the value of output of the ID discriminating means is a specific value.
