Invention herewith described refers to the position sensor based on projection of magnetic field on the plane of measurement. The sensor for the position measuring consists of longitudinally magnetized magnet (1) of rectangular cross section which is movable in relation to the probe (2), which measures the angle of magnetic induction vector. The magnet, in relation to the probe (2), moves along a given path (5). The circuit for the signal processing (3) defines the position of the magnet on the basis of information on the angle of magnetic induction (4) obtained by measuring with the probe (2).
