<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternate-traffic signal apparatus capable of regulating speeds of vehicles entering one-lane road to specified limited speeds without impairing smooth travel of the vehicles in a road with a little vehicle traffic. <P>SOLUTION: The alternate-traffic signal apparatus includes a speed detecting sensor 30 for detecting the speeds of vehicles before a stop line, when the speed of a vehicle is less than a speed limit P, lights a green lamp 22 immediately after detecting the speed, and, when the speed of the vehicle is the speed limit P or more, lights the green lamp 22 after a lapse of a green lamp standby time T1 after detecting the speed. The green lamp standby time T1 is set shorter than a time required when the vehicle travels at the limit speed P from the speed detection position where the speed is detected by the speed detecting sensor 30 to the stop line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
