<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for hydrogen storage which is made lower in hydrogen desorption initiation temperature and hydrogen desorption peak temperature and a production method thereof, and a method for storing hydrogen. <P>SOLUTION: The material for hydrogen storage has a mixture composed of a metal hydride and a metal amide compound and a reactant and is made to contain at least two or more kinds of metals.
