[Also in Group IX] A grill bar for a textile spinning or preparatory machine includes a needle support formed with a slot, needles and spacers shaped at their base portions to fit the slot and securing means to hold the needles and spacers close together and secured to the support. In one embodiment, Figs. 3, 4 and 4a, the support 1 has an L-shaped slot 1<SP>1</SP> to receive similarly-shaped needles 4 and spacers 5 which are held in position by end members or screws at the ends of the support. The slot may extend right through the bar, in which case the pins and spacers have shoulders which are spaced apart a distance equal to the depth of the support. In another form, the slot and the bases of needles and spacers may have the shape of an inverted T. Needles 11, Fig. 9, with T-shaped bases, may be fitted in a bar with a slot extending throughout, the needles 11 being held in position by a slide member 13. Where a gill bar pinned on two sides is required, pins 14 with cross-shaped bases are used without spacers, Fig. 10. The support may consist of two bars secured together and spaced apart to provide a slot for the needles. |
