<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose acrylate film having high retardation and low haze, to provide an optical compensation film using the above film, and to provide a liquid crystal display apparatus having high front contrast, small viewing angle dependency of contrast and keeping high image quality even upon lighting for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The cellulose acrylate film has an in-plane retardation Re and a retardation Rth in a thickness direction at 590 nm wavelength satisfying the ranges of expressions (I) to (III); a coefficient of thermal expansion of from 20 ppm/°C to 100 ppm/°C ; and a haze of from 0.01 to 0.8 haze. A polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display panel using the above film are provided. The expressions are: (I) 20≤Re≤500; (II) 70≤Rth≤200 and (III) 1.0≤Rth/Re≤3.0, wherein Re and Rth are values at 25°C and 60% RH respectively and the unit is nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
