The element i.e. longitudinal carrier (1), has a wall made of a fiber composite material i.e. carbon fiber composite material, where the wall is integrally formed and completely surrounds an interior. The wall has multiple layers of fiber composite layers i.e. carbon fiber composite layers (5, 6). The layers are closed in a circumferential direction of a cross section and formed from individual fibers or fiber strands by braiding a core (4), which is arranged in the interior of the element. The core consists of a foamed material i.e. foamed plastic such as foamed Polyethylene or Polypropylene. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a carrier element.
