PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "map display device" capable of enabling a user to easily recognize geography and improving convenience. SOLUTION: The map display device includes a travel history saving means 10 of saving a travel history of a local vehicle including the numbers of times of travels of the own vehicle on roads, and a road display control means 19 of controlling the display of roads on the basis of the travel history 18 saved by the travel history saving means 10 so that a road whose number of times of a travel is larger than the predetermined number of times is displayed in spite of whether road data of the road belongs to a layer corresponding to the reduced scale of a map displayed on a display section 8.
