A bearing cone has a tapered bearing surface 1, a cylindrical surface 2, an annular shoulder 3 and a hexagonal portion 5. A washer 7 is adapted to be force-fitted on the surface 2 against the shoulder 3 so as to provide a closure for a cup-shaped bearing member 9. The cone has a screw-threaded bore for securing it on a shaft where it may be adjustably locked by nuts 13, 14. In a modification, the shoulder 3 forms the inner face of the hexagonal portion 5. |
