PURPOSE: A snow melting system using exhaust gas and a method of controlling the same are provided to prevent bursting due to liquid since gas is used as a heat transfer medium. CONSTITUTION: A snow melting system using exhaust gas comprises a power generating device, a heat radiating pipe(20), a generator and a heating coil. The power generating device burns fuel and generates exhaust gas. The heat radiating pipe radiates heat of the exhaust gas emitting from the power generating device and melts snow on road. The generator generates electrical energy using driving force of the power generating device. The heating coil is installed in the heat radiating pipe. The heat radiating coil is heated using electrical energy supplied from the generator.
