An apparatus for managing digital assets comprises a processor and a controller engine configured, under control of the processor, to control conversion of the digital asset having a video component to rich content by a first converter engine. The controller engine is also configured to control conversion of a digital asset not having a video component to rich content format by a second converter engine. The apparatus generates for display a repository containing a representation of a converted digital asset having been converted to root content format by the first converter engine or the second converter engine. An apparatus for querying a remote apparatus for an update to a toolkit having a plurality of files comprising rich content comprises a processor and a memory for storing the toolkit loaded from an external source. The apparatus queries a remote apparatus for an update to the toolkit.
