FIELD: transport. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to elevator maintenance safety. Method of controlling access to elevator rood or floor comprises separate stages. First, elevator control system is switched into maintenance mode to allow cabin to displace to preset stop position that allows access therein. Then, floor platform door is opened to allow access into elevator shaft.
