Disclosed is the use of a Plasmodium antigen wherein the Plasmodium antigen is the circumsporozoite (CS) protein or an immunogenic fragment or derivative thereof and an adjuvant comprising a lipid A derivative 3D-MPL and a saponin QS21 in a liposome formulation, in the manufacture of a medicament for immunising travellers to endemic regions against productive malaria infection, wherein said traveller is a malaria naive adult.
