A collection (1) apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus (1) has a body (2) in which a collector, such as a cylindrical brush, is positioned forward of a drive shaft (9A) and configured to collect debris from a ground surface. A tow bar (7) is connected to the body at a pivot point (18) so that raising of the height of the connector (8) lowers the height of the collector in relation to the ground and vice versa. The collector is driven by the drive shaft (9A) via a drive arrangement configured to rotate the collector in the opposite direction to that of the drive shaft 9A) as the apparatus is moved across the ground. The drive arrangement comprises a first gear (3B) attached to the rotating drive shaft (9A), a second gear (9B) attached to the collector, a third gear (15) and a closed loop chain configured to enable co-rotation of the first gear (3B) and third gear (15) and contra-rotation of the second gear (9B).
