<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a streetlight system capable of cutting down waste of electric power energy without spoiling roles of sure illumination of a street, and traffic safety and crime prevention at night. <P>SOLUTION: In the streetlight system, existence of traffics such as a human and a vehicle is confirmed with an object detection sensor installed inside or around the streetlight, and lighting-up of the streetlight is adjusted in response to conditions mentioned above. Further, information of existence of traffics is reported to surrounding streetlights, and the streetlights are lighted up in advance by interconnecting them before the vehicles come.
