<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection display device which has an enhanced cooling effect with respect to an optical modulation device. <P>SOLUTION: The projector includes: three liquid crystal panels 209, 214 and 222 disposed in accordance with light of a wavelength band to be modulated; a cooling unit 60 which includes air outlets 611, 615 and 619 corresponding to the respective liquid crystal panels 209, 214 and 222, and which blows an air drawn in from the outside to the liquid crystal panels 209, 214 and 222 through the air outlets 611, 615 and 619; a first exhaust fan 701 which exhausts the air that has passed the liquid crystal panels 209, 214 and 222, to the outside through an exhaust way EW; and a circuit board 801 controlling various driving parts of the projector. In this case, the circuit board 801 is disposed at such a position that the circuit board 801 is not overlapped above the blue liquid crystal panel 209 but is overlapped above the green and red liquid crystal panels 214 and 222. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
