<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a charge reception limit of a secondary battery, and a device therefor, which are designed for detecting a charging rate at the time of the charging reception limit enabling charging of the secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: When it is determined in step S3 that a temperature measured value Tm is larger than a temperature threshold Tt and it is determined in step S4 that a voltage measured value Vm is larger than a voltage threshold Vt, and when it is determined in step S11 that a voltage excess rate RV is larger than a voltage excess rate threshold Rt and it is determined in step S12 that an average current Ia is within a prescribed current threshold range, condition formation duration tc meeting the condition of the charging reception limit is calculated in step S13.
