<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery capable of being easily and inexpensively manufactured without the need for a separator and electrolytic solution, while giving consideration to the safety. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes a sheet member 1 containing at least an electrode active material and electrolyte, wherein conductive layers 2a, 2b containing at least conductive aid are formed on both principal surfaces of the sheet member 1. The electrode active material contains dominantly an organic compound (an organic compound having stable radical groups, e.g.) reactive on both oxidation and reduction sides. A positive electrode active material and a negative electrode active material are formed of the same organic compound. The sheet member 1 contains at least a polymer compound.
