摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel aluminum alloy, which is excellent in castability, workability, and mechanical characteristics. SOLUTION: When the total of the high-strength aluminum alloy is defined to be 100 mass%, the alloy contains 3.5-7.5 mass% Si, 0.45-0.8 mass% Mg, and 0.05-0.25 mass% Cr, with the balance comprising Al and inevitable impurities. The strength of the alloy is improved by containing the proper amount of Mg in an aluminum alloy containing silicon within the range of no-adverse influence to the ductility and is also greatly improved by containing Cr together with Mg in the alloy.
